One-One
Birth Preparation &
Virtual Doula Support

Personalised, evidence-based support through pregnancy, birth and early motherhood. Online and in person in Abergavenny and surrounding areas.

You don't need to figure everything out on your own.

You've been reading the books, listening to the podcasts, maybe even attending antenatal classes.

You're doing everything you can to prepare for birth.

But somewhere amongst all the information, the well-meaning advice and the endless decisions, you're still wondering...

What if things don't go to plan?

How will I know I'm making the right decisions?

What if my birth partner doesn't know how to help me?

What if I get overwhelmed and forget everything I've learnt?

You want to feel prepared, but you don't necessarily want or need a doula physically present at your birth.

Maybe you just want someone to sit with you, listen to what's on your mind and help you make sense of it all.

Someone who understands how birth works, who can help you explore your options and who isn't going to tell you what you should or shouldn't do.

NOW IMAGINE SOMETHING DIFFERENT

Imagine approaching birth knowing you understand your options.

You know what questions to ask when decisions need to be made, and you feel confident expressing what matters to you.

Your birth partner understands how you want to be supported. They know when to offer comfort, when to step in and when you simply need their quiet presence.

And when something unexpected happens, instead of immediately feeling frightened or powerless, you have the tools, knowledge and support to work through what's happening.

Not because you can guarantee how birth will unfold.

But because you've prepared for more than one possibility.

That's the kind of confidence I want to help you build.

Your pregnancy. Your birth. Your support.

My approach to birth preparation isn't about following a set script or working through another long list of things you should know.

It's about you.

Your experiences, your circumstances, your hopes, your concerns and what you need to feel supported.

Maybe you've had a previous birth experience that you're still trying to make sense of.

Maybe you're preparing for your first baby and feeling overwhelmed by conflicting advice.

Perhaps you've been offered an induction or caesarean birth and want to understand your options.

Or maybe you feel relatively confident, but you'd love some dedicated time with your birth partner to deepen your preparation.

Whatever brings you here, we'll start with what matters most to you.

Together, we can explore your questions, work through your concerns, practise practical techniques and help you build trust in your ability to navigate birth.

No set agenda. No one-size-fits-all approach. Just grounded, personal support that meets you where you are.

Three hours to slow down, connect and prepare for birth together.

You and your birth partner deserve more than a few hours of information that you're expected to remember when labour begins.

You deserve time to really explore what birth means to you, what helps you feel safe and supported, and how you want to navigate the different ways your birth might unfold.

During our three hours together in your home or online, we'll focus entirely on you.

Maybe you'd like to practise breathing techniques, movement and birth positions.

Perhaps you want to explore biomechanics, rebozo or practical comfort measures your partner can use.

You might want to work through your birth preferences, explore induction or caesarean birth, or spend some time discussing your previous experiences.

There is no prescribed programme.

We'll shape our time together around whatever will make the biggest difference to you both.

What you'll receive:

  • A private three-hour antenatal visit in your home (if you're local to Abergavenny & Surrounding Areas or online via zoom).

03. Virtual Doula Support

The reassurance of having a doula in your corner, without needing someone physically present at your birth.

You want continuity of care.

You want someone who gets to know you, understands what matters to you and is there when you need to talk things through.

Someone you can message after an appointment when you're not sure how you feel about what's been discussed.

Someone who can help you explore your choices, find clarity when things feel overwhelming and offer a steady, familiar voice when labour begins.

But perhaps you don't want a doula physically present in your birth space.

That's where my Virtual Doula Support comes in.

We'll start with three hours together in your home or online, getting to know one another and deepening your birth preparation.

We'll explore whatever matters most to you, helping me understand your hopes, wishes and how you want to be supported.

From there, you'll have ongoing access to me throughout the rest of your pregnancy.

Not just for practical questions, but for those moments when you need someone to listen, help you make sense of something or gently remind you that you have choices.

And when labour begins, you'll know you can reach out to someone familiar who understands your story.

What you'll receive:

  • One three-hour antenatal online or home visit, completely tailored to you and your birth partner.

  • Ongoing WhatsApp support throughout your pregnancy, Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm, with replies within 24 working hours.

  • 24/7 virtual on-call support from 38–42 weeks, through WhatsApp messages, phone or video calls during labour and birth.

  • Two weeks of postnatal WhatsApp support, so you have someone familiar to turn to as you recover and adjust to life with your baby.

What might this look like in real life?

You're 34 weeks pregnant and have just come away from an appointment where something unexpected has been discussed.

You have questions, but you're not quite sure what to ask or how to feel.

Instead of spending the evening going down a Google rabbit hole, you send me a message.

We explore what you've been told, what questions might be helpful and where to find reliable information, so you can approach your next conversation feeling more informed.

A few weeks later, labour begins.

Your partner has been supporting you beautifully, but things are becoming intense and you're both feeling unsure.

You reach out to me.

Maybe we talk through ways your partner can help you feel more comfortable. Perhaps you need a gentle reminder of your breathing techniques, or you'd like some support understanding the choices being presented to you.

Or maybe you simply need a reassuring voice.

Then your baby arrives.

And because support shouldn't stop at birth, I'm still here during those first two weeks.

A space to share how you're feeling, ask questions, reflect on your experience and feel supported as you find your feet.

This is about more than having someone to message.

It's about building a relationship with someone who knows you, understands what's important to you and can offer calm, consistent support throughout one of the biggest transitions of your life.

So rather than feeling like you're navigating pregnancy and birth alone, you know you have someone in your corner.

FAQ's

Do I need to have attended one of your workshops or classes?

Not at all. These services are available to anyone who would benefit from personalised birth preparation or virtual doula support, whether we've worked together before or you're discovering me for the first time.

Can my birth partner join the sessions?

Absolutely. I encourage partners to be involved if that's what you'd like. Understanding how to support each other is such an important part of preparing for birth.

What can we cover during a session?

Anything related to your pregnancy, birth preparation or birth preferences that you'd like non-clinical guidance with. There's no fixed agenda. We'll explore what's most helpful to you and signpost to your maternity team when clinical advice is needed.

When can I book virtual doula support?

You can enquire at any stage of pregnancy. WhatsApp support begins from booking, with 24/7 virtual on-call labour support between 38 and 42 weeks.

Do you support different types of birth?

Yes. Whether you're preparing for a home birth, hospital birth, induction, caesarean or VBAC, my role is to help you understand your choices and feel supported in making decisions that are right for you.

Where do you offer home visits?

I'm based in Abergavenny and generally travel within approximately an hour, covering Monmouthshire, Herefordshire, Powys and surrounding areas. Please get in touch to discuss your location.

Is virtual doula support the same as having a doula physically present?

No. Virtual support provides continuity, education, emotional reassurance and remote guidance during labour, but it doesn't replace the hands-on, continuous physical support of an in-person doula or the clinical care of your midwife or maternity team.

You don't have to navigate it all alone.

Maybe you need an hour to talk through something that's been weighing on your mind.

Maybe you want to spend an afternoon preparing for birth with your partner.

Or maybe you want the reassurance of having someone you know and trust alongside you throughout pregnancy, birth and those early days with your baby.

Whatever support looks like for you, I'd love to hear your story.

You can't control every aspect of how birth unfolds. But you can feel informed, supported and more confident in how you navigate it.

And you deserve that.
